Background

Sidney Quinn’s life began with tragedy. As a child, he survived a devastating shipwreck that claimed his family. He was rescued by Rubeus Caligari, a reclusive mystic and founder of Serenity’s Edge, who raised Sidney as his own. Their bond grew into a father–son relationship, with Rubeus teaching him resilience, wisdom, and compassion for the downtrodden.

At nineteen, Sidney left Serenity’s Edge to take up the mantle of a Guardian of Starshield, driven by a sense of duty to protect others as he himself had been saved. His years of service carried him across the realm, safeguarding villages, quelling raids, and earning the loyalty of commonfolk. Eventually, his skill and loyalty brought him into Queen Hermia’s service as her personal Guardian.

Despite his oath to the monarchy, Sidney’s true loyalty has always been to the people — a conviction instilled in him by Rubeus, and one that increasingly puts him at odds with Starshield’s ruling elite.
